  1. 1998

    • Pre-planning for the future of NNLPI began by SK Khaling, Founder and Director of NNLPI.
    • First Creative Writers' Workshop held.
  2. 1999

    • NNLPI officially established and first Executive Board was formed.
    • Glimpses of the Dhimal and Rajbanshi world, two booklets were published.
  3. 2000

    • Khaling Language development project started.
    • Drafting of Constitution of NNLPI began.
    • Rajbanshi and Dhimal Sociolinguistic surveys planning.
  4. 2001

    • NNLPI registered with Government of Nepal
    • Rajbanshi sociolinguistics survey conducted in Jhapa and Morang districts
    • Dhimal sociolinguistics survey conducted in Jhapa and Morang districts
    • Rajbanshi language development project started in Jhapa and Morang districts
    • Sampang sociolinguistics survey conducted in Khotang district

    • Chilhara Rajbanshi MTB-MLE Community School registered with DEO of Jhapa district
    • Western Tamang MTB-MLE programme preparation started
    • Thami MTB-MLE needs assessment conducted in Dolakha district

    • Western Tamang MTB-MLE programme Kindergarten class started in Shree Dongden Devi Secondary School

    • Western Tamang MTB-MLE programme implementation in Kindergarten and Grade 1
