Anan Tamang teaches English to early-grade students at Jharlang Basic School, which joined the MTB-MLE program in April 2022. After the training, Anan shared that he had read about child-centered strategies in his bachelor course, but did not know how to apply this idea. He said: “For me the advantage of the training was that now I know practically how to teach in a child-centered manner and even after a few days of school, I can see it’s working.” He continued stating that before, only the teacher was active, but did not know whether the students understood or not. Anan remarked that now students are also more active. By using different strategies with picture cards or actions, the students are not bored and show some interest.
